Title: Wishes on Wildflowers
Author: Valerie Comer
Series: Urban Farm Fresh Romance, Book 4
Publication Date: February 22, 2018
Publisher: GreenWords Media

Summary from the author: Jasmine Santoro’s relationship with her older brother has never been great, but when she discovers he’s contracted Nathan Hamelin to help with their new family venture, she’s furious. She’s never forgiven her former boyfriend for dumping her and fleeing to L.A. eight years ago.
Nathan thought he was well over Jasmine. They were only kids back then, clearly too young for a committed relationship. Now his hopes to turn animosity to friendship blossom into more when he finds himself falling in love with Jasmine all over again. But when problems heat up with her brother, Nathan must decide if he’ll expose his past and risk losing her for good.
Are Jasmine’s growing feelings strong enough to remind her grace is needed for life and love?
This fourth installment of Valerie Comer’s Urban Farm Fresh Romances is a really strong addition to the series. Jasmine has been one of my favorite characters since I met her in the first book, and this book focused on her did not disappoint. I absolutely loved her inner strength and how she didn’t put up with it when Nathan didn’t listen to her words because he thought he could read what she really meant. I was also pleasantly surprised by the depth of her interactions with her family. I sort of expected them to remain on the sides of the story so when they came front and center and were a huge part of the plot, I loved it!
I am part of Valerie Comer’s launch team and received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.
As always with Valerie Comer’s books, I highlighted way too many quotes to share! So I narrowed it down to one I found hilarious and one that was more serious and touched me.
“If they were going to see each other over business at Bridgeview Backyards, she’d have to set some ground rules. Number one: no gray Henleys.” —Jasmine
For some reason, Jasmine’s annoyance over how good Nathan looked in gray cracked me up several times in this story!
But this one from Jasmine’s grandmother was my favorite:
“You say the prayer cannot grow wings beyond the ceiling and fly to the heavens, but the psalmist says we cannot escape from God’s presence. He is with us to the outermost part of the earth, below the waves even. Surely that means He fits inside that room where you pray, and your words do not need to fly beyond it.” –Nonna Marietta
How many times have I felt like my prayers were stuck at the ceiling? If I ever think that again, I know I’ll hear Nonna’s voice knocking that foolishness right out of my head!
