Happy Thanksgiving – Booknificent Thursday Link Up Party #73 — 7 Comments

  1. Happy Thanksgiving! I’m usually sad not to be in the States over Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and 4th of July, because I grew up with wonderful family get-togethers and my kids haven’t experienced that much. Today will be a little more celebratory, because Amanda is graduating Kindergarten tonight and my South African in-laws are coming through and will spend the night – so we will have a Thanksgiving dinner together and that’s cool. It’s nice to read your take on it. Enjoy!

  2. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Tina. I would imagine Thanksgiving and Christmas really are different when you’re not in America, and I can appreciate that this lets you focus on their real meaning. I believe Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday for the reason that it’s a quiet time of enjoying family and focusing on God’s blessings.

One thing that I’m very thankful for today is Skype! My daughter leads a campus ministry in Germany and while I’m proud of what she’s doing, I miss her all the time, but especially so during the holidays. We talked for almost an hour this afternoon and the minutes just flew by.

Happy Thanksgiving, Tina! You might enjoy this prayer of thanksgiving that I posted on my blog today: http://booksmusicandlife.blogspot.com/2014/11/a-prayer-of-thanksgiving-inspired-by.html
