  1. Sounds like a great book, and I really enjoyed your review. I’m embarrassed to admit that I did not know it was Abraham Lincoln that instituted an annual Thanksgiving holiday. I guess it’s true, you learn something new everyday.

  2. I’m with Paul – I didn’t know that either. I plead my ignorance as a Canadian. lol Thank you so much for taking part in the SockKids Blog Tour. You raised a good point about the blurring of reality and fiction and the need to clarify that Lincoln was indeed a real person. 🙂

    • Thanks, Renee. I’ll be honest that even after researching Canadian Thanksgiving for my post on it a few weeks ago that I can’t tell you who instituted your Thanksgiving. As a matter of fact, I’m hard-pressed to name one of your prime ministers. I think you win!

  4. Thanks for taking the time to explore our first book in the SockKids series. True, it’s an introduction to President Lincoln and we definitely encourage parents to interact with their children about him. We’re working on a book about Ben Franklin. We’ll explore his inventions and impact on every day life in a deeper way this time around. Thank you for your suggestions!

  5. I’ve always felt a connection to Lincoln because he died on my birthday so my whole life that’s how I’ve gotten people to remember it.
