Wow! It’s Thursday already! We started our Thursday with a bang, literally, at 5:50am when a fuse out on the street blew and knocked out the power for our whole house. I wasn’t sure I’d get this post up at all, but the electric company here in Penang answered our call and got out here within an hour and had us up and running before 10. I was pretty amazed! And thankful!!!
So it’s time to share how books are impacting your life this week! I can’t wait to see what you all have to share!
As for my reading this week, I was very moved by an excerpt from John of the Cross’ Dark Night of the Soul from Devotional Classics: Selected Readings for Individuals and Groups($) by Richard J. Foster and James Bryan Smith. I’m thinking about reading the whole book. Have any of you read it? Can anyone recommend a good translation of it?
The kids and I also continued with Phillis Tickle’s The Divine Hours: Prayers for Summertime($) this week. And I got really into the nutrition part of Trim Healthy Mama($) so I’ve been reading that and looking at recipes in my spare time. It’s really odd for me to go a whole week with no fiction, but it seems that I did this week. Crazy!
How about you? What have you been reading this week? Anything worth a recommendation? Please let us know in the comments!
